Hey, my name is Uyen
After 8+ years as an art director for brands like Nordstrom, Hulu, & Disney, I decided to go all in on photography in an industry that I resonated with so much more. An industry that allows me to be a part of the biggest days of your lives, and use my skills to craft heirlooms that get cherished, shared, and kept forever. The heart that goes into weddings is what drew me to them, and I absolutely pour my heart into the weddings I capture in return.
Because of my experience, I treat your wedding day with the care, detail, and confidence I would art directing any other project. I get aligned on the vision for the day so I already 'see' the photo before I've grabbed my camera to capture it, and I confidently direct when needed to craft beautiful compositions and ensure we capture everything you envisioned.
Most importantly, I put my couples first. I put you feeling present first. Photos with meaning happen when the moment is truly lived, and there's no way to do that unless you have the space to be present.

I'll provide gentle direction when you need it that allows for your natural body language and chemistry to show up. The goal isn't to fabricate who you two are, it's to bring out how the two of you already connect. ❤️

We will absolutely be capturing wow-worthy, editorial portraits of you two, but those will not be the heart of your gallery. Your gallery will capture the emotions, the guests, and the details you've tirelessly poured and planned into your day. The magic often happens in the quiet moments, and I'm here to capture the complete emotional arc of your wedding. When you look through your gallery, I want you to feel transported right to the day.

As I help you craft a timeline for your day, we'll meticulously account for things like travel, family dynamics, light patterns, priorities, and the fact that people simply move slow! We'll ensure we're baking in time for all of the things you envision, and I'll keep it real when the timeline feels too tight. On the day of, I'll make sure to help move things along and protect the parts of the day you've prioritized.
CAMERA-SHY FRIENDLY!
Most of my couples express at one point or another feeling like they're "awkward in front of the camera" or camera shy, but walk away with images that feel true to them and natural. Hearing couples express how much fun they've had or how comfortable they feel after initially feeling unsure in front of the camera is one of the most rewarding, and proud moments for me as a photographer.
I'm not a fan of asking you to fake emotions or hold poses that don't feel natural to you. I'll guide you in ways that allow your natural connection to shine through, and capture you as your most authentic selves.

My work blends documentary storytelling with an editorial flare. That means throughout the day, I capture moments in a way that keeps them honest. This means emotions stay authentic, and compositions stay intentional. You're left with the perfect blend of directed portraits and real moments that happened around you, whether you saw them yourself or not.
experience with the unknown and unplanned
As an art director for 8 years and a photographer for 12, I've photographed and directed people and places of all sorts. From rain and harsh sun to dark interiors and crowded rooms, I take them on as a challenge for my creativity.
My experience has also taught me to come prepared for the unexpected on wedding days. Weather changes, timelines running late, rallying family for photos, and plans that suddenly need a plan B. Though I can't promise everything will go perfectly, I can promise I will be a calm, quick problem solving presence who never makes the problem yours.

I find that comfort with your photographer is key to capturing authentic photos and feeling present, so your comfort is my priority. We'll chat through your plans, priorities, logistics, and any worries you might have.
digital & unlimited film photography
Every wedding collection includes a blend of digital and film photography. Film holds a special place in my heart and has become an integral part of how I document the world and wedding days. That's why I don't limit couples to a set number of rolls or treat film as an add on; I believe the moments worth capturing shouldn't be dictated by how much film is left, so I allow both mediums to flow naturally throughout the day, creating a gallery that's densely packed with feeling and character.

I'm here to make you feel like the best version of yourselves in your photos so that you're left with images that are not only beautiful, but completely authentic to who you two are. I never hesitate to nudge your arm into position, brush hair into place, or tell you you need more lip gloss. I've been in your shoes, and make it a priority to leave you with wow-worthy photos, which requires paying attention to the little details.

We'll set up a call and go over all aspects of your day including priorities for what you'd like captured to ensure we craft a timeline that not only cover photos but allows time for you to truly savor the day you've waited for. Leading up to your wedding, you'll have unlimited communication with me via email so that no stone is left unturned.
travel made simple
Your day deserves to be documented wherever it unfolds. To make things a little easier, all wedding collections include up to 100 miles of roundtrip travel from Los Angeles (90025). For celebrations beyond that, travel is simply $1 per additional mile. No complicated calculations or unexpected mileage charges.
HIgh resolution photos & online gallery
Every image is meticulously edited to feel true to the day, skin tones, and colors, with a little zhuzh. Distractions are carefully removed from photos and compositions tweaked if needed to ensure every photo is frame worthy. These images are delivered in a private, downloadable online gallery designed for easy viewing and sharing with the people you love.

This is the part where you get to be fully present. I’ll handle the rest, directing when needed and capturing it all as it unfolds! I'll follow the day with a preview gallery within the week while anticipation is high, and the full gallery within 8 weeks to relive it all over again!
